Flooring Renovation
in St. Louis.
Custom patterns, wide plank, medallions, and whole-home transformations. The work most contractors sub out, we do in-house.
Flooring renovation is more than replacing what's there, it's a design decision. A new pattern, a wider plank, a custom border, or a herringbone entry hall can define a room more than any furniture or paint color.
Classic Flooring Solutions handles the full scope of flooring renovation projects across St. Louis, from single-room pattern work to phased whole-home replacements. We collaborate with architects, interior designers, and homeowners to deliver work that's been executed precisely to spec.

Pattern work, wide plank, historic restoration, stair systems — these are the scopes most flooring contractors pass off to a subcontractor. We do all of it with our own crew.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Renovation FAQs
What's the difference between renovation and repair?
Repair is targeted work to restore what’s already there, replacing damaged boards, fixing squeaks, blending a section. Renovation is intentional transformation: changing the floor pattern, species, width, or layout as a design decision. Many projects involve both, repairing what needs fixing and upgrading the rest.
What custom patterns can you install?
We install herringbone, chevron, basketweave, Versailles, parquet, custom mixed-width random plank, and one-of-a-kind designs created in collaboration with the homeowner or designer. Pattern work is done entirely in-house, we don’t subcontract it.
Can I install hardwood on my stairs?
Yes. We install full hardwood stair systems and can match them to your existing or new floor species and finish. We handle open-riser stairs, traditional enclosed risers, curved returns, and custom nosing profiles.
How long does a whole-home renovation take?
Whole-home projects vary significantly based on square footage, pattern complexity, and finish requirements. A typical 2,000–3,000 sq ft home with standard plank installation takes 1–2 weeks including finishing. Pattern work adds time. We’ll give you a realistic, room-by-room timeline in your written quote.
Can you phase the renovation so we can stay in the home?
Yes, phased schedules for occupied homes are a specialty. We sequence work room by room, maintain a clean and safe working environment, and coordinate dry times and furniture moves so you can continue living in the house throughout the project.
